At the Atlanta History Center, groups can learn more about Georgia’s history of farm life and enslavement. The Smith Family Farm provides insights into 1840’s farm life. For Atlantans who love history, The Smith Family Farm will provide a glimpse of a working slaveholding farm and an opportunity to delve deeper into the past of this Southern city.

About the Smith Family Farm
The Smith Farm is a 33-acre property comprising of gardens, houses, and award-winning exhibitions. The Atlanta History Center has a wide range of family and adult programs.
Guests have the unique opportunity of seeing the exclusive well-preserved main house, chicken coops, outdoor kitchen, smokehouse, blacksmith shop, and more.
Every Saturday, guests will get to enjoy the unique experience of seeing the breed of goats and sheep on their weekly stroll. There are toys they can play with for kids, a chalkboard for lessons, and a loom for weaving.
To fully enjoy yourself, give yourself a 2-hour tour for a wholesome experience.
Parking: There is free parking at the Atlanta History Center.
